I dunno, a lot of people hate Richard Jacques' soundtrack for Metropolis Street Racer (the Dreamcast game that was the first game in the series that became Project Gotham Racing on XBox).

I think the MSR soundtrack is a mixed bag, but there are several tracks I legitimately like such as this one... maybe a little generic Europop, but generic in the best possible way.
