this site is a tarantino on DVD free zone, but i watched it this morning preparing for a role in a locally produced piece of old west theater because one of my roles is one of a gang member.

this fireball of a neo-noir western is really worth revisiting especially since tortelleni has cited it (along with 'the thing') as one of the main inspirations for 'hateful eight' (the best film of 2015). here we see him playing with elements of world building and continuity sequencing while 'kamikaze ninja' and 'silver surfer' posters in mr oranges apartment gain all the more pop and relevance with age. i watched a high-res print (1080p digital file) on the big screen this morning in preparation for one of my roles in an upcoming theater production in which i portray the member of an outlaw posse.

there is a lot of old west style tactics from characters throwing down on each other regularly to mr blondes boots, and you can see how tarantino would move back towards this sort of subject matter albeit in the form of the more classic Western. point im making is, i think tarantino is like kanye and he will be remembered for his artistic output as a genius when all the hubub and stigma finally fades with enough time.
