See? This is what when you ship arms from Benghazi to ISIS-aligned Islamist rebels, in order to destabilize a nation which you pinkie-swore in front of the somewhat-vaguely-aware masses that you wouldn't invade, but which then made the mistake of backing the oil interests of Russia and Iran over those of Turkey and the EU.

You get a generation of kids growing up to be radicalized Furries.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

I wonder how many of them will choose a camel as their fursona?

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

Given that, by the time they get old enough to really flesh out their fursonas, these children will be completely indoctrinated by Western society, I'm willing to bet the answer is "none".

Gonna be all wolves and dragons for them, too.

Magazines with women in them - not available
Plushie toys - They have a huge bin full of them at the department store I have been going to the last few weeks here in SA

I've also seen a number of really tacky animal mascots on various chips/soda. Lions and tigers seem to be the most popular anthropomorphic creatures.

That guy - 2016-03-10

What are you doing in Saudi Arabia?? Get the fuck out of there.

Cena_mark - 2016-03-10

What kind of lame-o dweeb would dress as Gilda?

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

The sort of lame-o dweeb who'd go to a Furry convention in Canada, evidently.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

I'm not willing to defend Gilda, either. She made Fluttershy cry, and that's NOT OK.

Cena_mark - 2016-03-10

But Gilda was redeemed in "The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone". Of couse her behavior in "Griffon the Brush-Off" was abhorrent, but now we see that she didn't learn any better from the society she was raised in.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

I still haven't watched Season Five. Gilda doesn't make amends with Fluttershy though, does she?

And anyways, what the buck, why are you trying to DEFEND Gilda now?! You were the one who insinuated she was a lame-o dweeb to begin with!

Cena_mark - 2016-03-10

I didn't call Gilda a lame-o dweeb, I called the person in the suit a lame-o dweeb.
The episode didn't have Fluttershy in it. Gilda made amends with Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

I know you didn't call her that. That's why I did not say you called her that. I specifically said that you *insinuated* she was a lame-o dweeb - in fact, I originally typed the word "called", but had to erase that sentence and rewrite it just to make sure that I was being accurate.

Anyways, whose side are you on here? Are you defending Gilda, or making a mockery of her?

Cena_mark - 2016-03-10

I'm not making a mockery of Gilda, I just wanted to use her insult and call someone a "lame-o dweeb". Anywho, Fluttershy should have been more careful. She was walking around backwards like a doofus.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

Ohmygawd, are you people listening to this? Can you believe this?

Fluttershy was walking backwards because she was helping some ducks to cross the street! There's nothing "doofy" about putting your life in danger to help other creatures. As a Coastie, you should know this; in fact, Fluttershy is basically Equestria's Coast Guard, for animals.

I bet if Fluttershy was here, she'd help ALL the Syrian refugees cross the street.

Cena_mark - 2016-03-10

Helping people and animals is great, but in the Coast Guard we also enforce the rules of the road. Fluttershy was like a pleasure craft cutting past a tanker from it's port side.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

There's no rule against walking backwards on the road and there are no roads out on the water either, but "pleasure craft" is a rather nice way of looking at Fluttershy, yes.

Cena_mark - 2016-03-10

By roads I mean waterways, and in some places there are traffic lanes. By pleasure craft, I mean clueless idiot. Pleasure crafts are typcally piloted by weekend warriors who break the rules of the road. The ocean isn't just a free for all.
For example
Rule 14 - Head-on Situation Return to the top of the page

(a) [ Unless otherwise agreed ] when two power-driven vessels are meeting on reciprocal or nearly reciprocal courses so as to involve risk of collision each shall alter her course to starboard so that each shall pass on the port side of the other.

(b) Such a situation shall be deemed to exist when a vessel sees the other ahead or nearly ahead and by night she could see the masthead lights of the other in a line or nearly in a line and/or both sidelights and by day she observes the corresponding aspect of the other vessel.

(c) When a vessel is in any doubt as to whether such a situation exists she shall assume that it does exist and act accordingly.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

Neither Fluttershy nor Gilda are "power-driven" vessels, and note 14(b): "when a vessel sees the other ahead or nearly ahead"

Fluttershy did not see Gilda, and, since she was facing backwards, the only things technically "ahead" of her were the ducks. Gilda, on the other hand, DID see Fluttershy. It was therefore, according to your own Coast Guard sources, incumbent upon GILDA to alter her heading and pass to the port side of Fluttershy. Not the other way around.

Cena_mark - 2016-03-10

So you want to play sea-lawyer now? Fluttershy is in direct violation of Rule 5 - Lookout

Every vessel shall at all times maintain a proper look-out by sight and hearing as well as by all available means appropriate in the prevailing circumstances and conditions so as to make a full appraisal of the situation and of the risk of collision.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

The whole Gildashy situation was basically a Coast Guard cutter trying to rescue some Syrian refugees, and then a mean tanker shows up and crashes into the cutter on purpose.

Cena_mark - 2016-03-10

A Coast Guard cutter when out to sea always has a lookout and someone minding the radar at all times. Fluttershy is more like a clueless pleasure craft as I originally stated.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

"by all available means appropriate in the prevailing circumstances and conditions"

Fluttershy was facing backwards because she had to make sure the ducks were safe. The prevailing circumstances forced her to look backwards, and the condition of only-having-eyes-in-the-front-of-her-head meant there was no appropriate means for her to look anywhere else! She WAS looking, she WAS hearing, but of course she's going to have a blindspot, and she cannot be faulted for having it.

Cena_mark - 2016-03-10

Rule 2 - Responsibility

(a) Nothing in these Rules shall exonerate any vessel, or the owner, master, or crew thereof, from the consequences of any neglect to comply with these Rules or of the neglect of any precaution which may be required by the ordinary practice of seamen, or by the special circumstances of the case.

Cena_mark - 2016-03-10

Also you can't say the option of turning her neck or stopping her transit to look behind her wasn't available.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

" from the consequences of any neglect to comply with these Rules or of the neglect of any precaution which may be required by the ordinary practice of seamen"

There was no neglect! At least, not on Fluttershy's part. She was complying fully with the letter of the law, to the absolute best allowed by the circumstances and conditions. I suppose you could say that Fluttershy might have turned around - but that would have prevented her from having "a full appraisal of the situation" (Rule 5) - or that Fluttershy could have purchased some butt-mirrors - but that is not an "ordinary practice of seamen", and would have been precluded by the special circumstances of Fluttershy's mission i.e. it was an emergency crossing, and she didn't have the luxury of time in which to invent butt-mirrors.

Gilda, however, without question broke all of those rules. She should be the dork you're mad at, not Fluttershy.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

>> Also you can't say the option of turning her neck or stopping her transit to look behind her wasn't available.

Yes, I can, and I just did. See above.

*moves paw towards immigration reform*

Old_Zircon - 2016-03-10

It's settled then, I'm going Trump.

Jimmy Labatt - 2016-03-10

Those poor kids; they have no concept of where those paws have been.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2016-03-10

Is Allah cool with this?

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2016-03-10

Only in places that aren't above 90 degrees Fahrenheit. In the Middle East, not so much. And yes, I'm taking your comment literally because I imagine those costumes do not allow for a lot of air.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

I am not personally aware of any hadiths condemning furrydom, although they certainly may exist.

Here is a community for Muslim furs; it might be a good place to start asking questions:

They are friends with the Unitarians!

That guy - 2016-03-10

oh wait, I forgot to make that comment specific to this video:

memedumpster - 2016-03-10

Welcome to the Spectacle, kids! :D

Binro the Heretic - 2016-03-10

I wonder if the refugees think the nice people dressed up just to cheer their children up.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

You remember that video where furries were playing with some little kids in the park, and one of the furries had a very-visible boner?

Doomstein - 2016-03-10

I was expecting more thrusting.

twinkieafternoon - 2016-03-11

I don't know who the refugees should trust least at this point
