Depends on the dragon.
Cena_mark - 2016-03-11
Yeah, one of those festival dragons would't stand a chance, cause it's just a bunch people in a cloth costume.

"For the increase and diffusion of knowledge."
That guy - 2016-03-12
really, if the shadowy overlords just make our country stupid enough, everything else falls into place

That guy - 2016-03-12
probably because those shadowy overlords are like 20th level wizards

All those hours of Shadowrun are finally going to pay off...
Bobonne - 2016-03-12
Your stars, sir.

(Everyone knows a Yellowjacket in the right hands could totally smoke a common dragon)

Sanest Man Alive - 2016-03-11
The one that actually exists.
memedumpster - 2016-03-11
I didn't see no helicopter bones at the Creation Museum, but they had plenty of dragon bones.

I honestly wish we could all meet up at a Creation Museum.

Sanest Man Alive - 2016-03-11
To burn it down?

Anyway HELICOPTERS HAVE EXOSKELETONS NOT BONES I MEAN GEEZ

You can find plenty of fossilized cockpit imprints if you know where to look, Somalia was a great source of those a few years back

SolRo - 2016-03-12
I've driven past it, and even that made me feel like I supported it too much.

memedumpster - 2016-03-12
Oh, SolRo, treat yourself. You wont make a dent in the cash that denomination rakes in from far greater crimes than entertaining you. Imagine if Christianity had been the invention of the writers of Dino Riders, then go live the fucking dream, buddy.

Helicopters don't have bones. They are vehicles, not animals, and would not be appropriate for your local creation museum (except perhaps as an illustrative example of things we know were derived from intelligent design).

I would like to go to a Creation Museum, too! They sound like fun, but sadly, I have never seen one in real life (all we've got around here is serious mainstream-science stuff, like the Yale-Peabody and Dinosaur State Park). If you have access to a Creation Museum, Mr Dumpster, you should go and film for us a nice video tour.

Old_Zircon - 2016-03-12
I haven't been to the creation museum since back when it was in (or near) San Diego, it was already pretty great then, I can only imagine what it's like now.

memedumpster - 2016-03-12
Kentucky has all the embarrassing attractions.

Remember that Best of the Worst with Dinosaur World, OZ? I fell out of my chair when I saw that, we have a Dinosaur World just like that too. All the dinosaurs long since inanimate (even more so).

Homie, it would have to be all infiltrational style, since I think they forbid propaganda generation.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-12
Don't you guys have that factory which makes baseball bats? That's a pretty cool attraction, I think.

memedumpster - 2016-03-12
We do!

We are world famous for our +1 melee weapons.

SolRo - 2016-03-12
Did it move? I think I drove past not too long ago

Old_Zircon - 2016-03-14
Meme, I haven't watched many Best of the Worst, but I saw that one.

BiggerJ - 2016-03-11
Ughhhh, did the Smithsonian Channel go the way of the History Channel?

Actually, didn't the History Channel relatively recently get taken over by a guy who hates its bullshit? Apparently he cancelled a third mermaid documentary.
Caminante Nocturno - 2016-03-11
Tangentially related, but GATE is a great anime.
Gmork - 2016-03-11
No, it's not.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-12
Controversy! I would like to know more. What is, or is not, so great about it?

Caminante Nocturno - 2016-03-12
GATE is an anime about the Japanese military going into a fantasy world and outmatching everyone and everything with their superior firepower and diplomacy. It features, among other things, a goth loli demigod.

It's really great.

Kraken vs. nuclear submarine.
Cena_mark - 2016-03-12
I doubt that a dragon's scales could deflect 30mm rounds. I've seen 20mm CIWS in action and that'll rip throught the hulls of ships. I assume the Apache would use similar armor piercing rounds.
EvilHomer - 2016-03-12
It's not generally a good idea to use assume different rounds being fired from different weapons systems will have comparable penetrative capabilities, but yeah, it's hard to imagine a dragon standing up to those autocannons. From what I understand, the Apache's 30mm rounds can reliably penetrate more than 50mm of armor plating - 2 inches, or precisely the thickness which the Smithsonian claims for dragon scales.

Of course, we'd still have to test it to be sure, because there are a lot of variables to consider!

Cena_mark - 2016-03-12
But does a dragon's scales equal military grade armor? I think not.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-12
According to the Smithsonian, dragon scales are "like two inch thick armor plates". {ibid, 1:24} So yes, military-grade equivalence seems to be the assumption.

Cena_mark - 2016-03-12
That's a pretty far out assumption they're making. I think the Smithsonian has been taken over by furries and otherkin.

Old_Zircon - 2016-03-12
ACCORDING TO LORE
Hooker - 2016-03-12
Yes, that's correct.
