Something really pissed me off about the speech where this happened. One of Bernie's promises was that he was going to forge a new relationship with Native American peoples. Now, I'm all for the betterment of the Native Americans ... only thing is, they haven't been neglected at all in the past seven years, Obama has been moving heaven and earth to do right by them.

A lot of the buzz about President Obama's trip to Alaska has centered around his decision to revert to the original name of Mt. McKinley - Mt. Denali - the name that it was given by Native Alaskans long ago. But it's worth noting that this is not the first time this President has listened to the needs of Native Americans. There is a reason why Cherokee Nation Chief Bill John Baker called President Obama the "best president ever for American Indians" and Chief James Allan, Coeur d�Alene tribal chairman, said that he has "done more for [Native American] tribes than the last five presidents combined."

Because Native Americans are so often the invisible minority in our political discussions, you may not have heard about the actions this administration has taken that led to those quotes. So perhaps it's time to provide a summary ...

To hear Sanders tell it, though, the Native American community has been neglected by everyone in Washington; this is more of his usual "both parties are equally guilty, and only I can fix things" bullshit. Either Bernie is unaware of all the work that Obama has been doing because he doesn't give a rat's ass about Native Americans, or he knows but is willing to lie because he doesn't respect the Native American cause enough to give its allies their due. Either way, we've got a man who gives no discernible shit about Native Americans, while trying to sell his followers on being the only man who does.

So we've got entire stadiums going into hivemind-orgasm because they saw a bird, and serious candidates going on TV to tell us that they copulate with rodents. Meanwhile, there's little or no mention of the fact that both of the establishment's preferred choices are deep in the pockets of Goldman Sachs, and include on the one side a foreign-born Canadian who technically cannot run for office, and on the other a war criminal who leaked dozens, possibly hundreds, of classified documents due to sheer negligence.

We've gone well past Idiocracy at this point (or at the very least, that's how the powers-that-be want you to feel).
