Miss Lindsey has The Vapors, goodness gracious!

Void 71 - 2016-04-07

Lindsey is the quintessential cuckservative.

ashtar. - 2016-04-07

more of an oldlesbianservative

EvilHomer - 2016-04-07

Log Cabana Republican?

Cena_mark - 2016-04-07

Yet they'll continue to ignore the reasons why they can't win the White House.

Cena_mark - 2016-04-07

Once again we'll hear the right wing pundits bemoan their loss cause they didn't nominate a candidate who's conservative enough, and didn't hold their values.

Oscar Wildcat - 2016-04-07

That's the best part of this election cycle. If the republican establishment has it's way and rids itself of Donald Trump, they'll get Ted Cruz as their nominee who will be easily defeated by Hillary, if only because 1/3 or so of Republican voters will stay home.

For decades, I've been hearing Republicans pine for the next Ronald Reagan. Now that he's arrived, they're desperate to get rid of him. Much like how, if Jesus Christ returns, the Christians will nail him up on that stick again in short order. That's just how they roll.

memedumpster - 2016-04-07

Their party is such a shambles that when conservatives do get elected everyone says the Democrats put them there. That's got to be demoralizing to the Republicans, they have to wait until we need them to do our inner party dirty work to get representation.

God, maybe we ARE kind of evil.

memedumpster - 2016-04-07

Holy fuck, we are cold-warring the South.

EvilHomer - 2016-04-07

You *just now* realized this?

Tribadating trilobites, meme, that is all we tax-cattle are anymore.

EvilHomer - 2016-04-07

For example: read what Mr Wildcat wrote, only replace "Democrat" with "Republican", "Trump" with "Bernie", and "Cruz" with "Ms Bengazhi-iMarriedaRapist".

This is literally what political discourse, and by extension what little political activity the non-donor-class is allowed to participate in, has come to.

Cena_mark - 2016-04-07

Come on Homer, sure the Dems may have their issues, but nothing like the cray cray implosion the GOP is facing.

EvilHomer - 2016-04-07

Really? Nothing like? I guess maybe I'm more in touch with Dems than with Reps (seeing as Dems are my home team and all), but from where I'm sitting, the Dems are in - well, they're in more of a shambles than the Reps *from where I'm sitting*, but that's probably just a byproduct of my local observational bias, so I'll say they're about even so far as shambles go. I mean, at least the Reds on both sides of their own personal civil war are sticking to their party's core principles - racism, nationalism, etc. Meanwhile, here in Blue land, we have all these people, who only a few scant years ago were swearing to high-heaven that they were liberals, now eager to forsake liberalism once and for all.

It's even worse when you consider the fact that Trump has a good shot of winning the Republican ticket, but Bernie has very little chance (even if he wins the popular vote, which is unlikely - Hello, Super-Delegates!). So we're far more likely to see Trump vs Hillary, with a load of butthurt Bernie supporters staying home, than Cruz vs whomever, with a load of butthurt Trump supporters staying home. And of course, everyone knows this already - it's the Ross Perot/ Ralph Nader/ Ron Paul script all over again.

Not that any of this matters, mind you. Real power comes from the bottom-up, not the top-down, however much the PTB may want you to think it does. Slavery exists nowhere else but in your own mind, and I think people are waking up to this.

Oscar Wildcat - 2016-04-07

Yes Homer, there is indeed a very similar thing happening with the Democrats. Difference being one of degree, as I could see either Dem having some success uniting the party after the primary. Hard to imagine that happening on the republican side.

Oscar Wildcat - 2016-04-07

Also: If Trump is denied, he'll more than likely run as an independent just to spoil the race. Bern will not do this.

Cena_mark - 2016-04-07

The GOP Primaries were a joke from the begining, you started out with almost 20 candidates, most of which are only there to increase their public profile using other people's money. The establishment put it's chips on Bush. How is that compare to the tidy display of the Democratic primary?

Oscar Wildcat - 2016-04-07

It was actually a lot more democratic than the Democrat's primary. None of this superdelegate bullshit. Hey, democracy is a messy business. But it does work, if you let it.

Nominal - 2016-04-08

Yes, the next presidential election doesn't matter, because top is bottom with power and free your mind, man.

*bong hit*

Nominal - 2016-04-08

"The Republican party is imploding and will never win the next election" has been being predicted for 7 years now.

Here's a bit of that from back in 2009. Hilarious reading the surefire predictions of a massive GOP loss in 2010.

Cena_mark - 2016-04-08

We're just talking about presidential elections. The GOP can win congress and senate seats due to a mix of Gerrymandering and low Democrat turnout for mid term elections.

betabox - 2016-04-08

Don't forget voter suppression -- err, "ID" -- laws.

Nominal - 2021-09-21

Nope, turns out I was right about everything!

Just business as usual.

godot - 2016-04-08

Paul Ryan will be the candidate after a contested convention.

Space Odin - 2018-02-02

Hey does everyone remember commenting on this thread?

Nominal - 2021-09-21

Everyone claiming the Republican party is dead has been wrong for 11 years now.

SolRo - 2021-09-21

It is dead, in a society with an actual representative government. But gerrymandering is keeping the zombie shambling along, murdering and destroying the living in its path, as it consumes all in an attempt to satisfy an unending hunger.
