Well, in a free market, sure that'd be the case. As privately-owned spaces, a McDonald's restaurant and your online game forum would, theoretically, be allowed to deny service to any group they please.

However, our modern, regulated society means that this is actually no longer the case. McDonald's cannot single out groups of people and deny them service; by law, it needs to provide services, equally, to all potential consumers - including the very black, the very racist, and the very loud. So why should your online game forum be any different? Why should you be allowed to violate, at the very least, the spirit of Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964?

Also, please do not engage in pedophobic speech. I know you do not mean to marginalize people on the basis of their sexual orientation, but we must stay vigilant, and be aware of any unconscious phobias we might harbor.

Back when I was part of the leadership (and therefore administration) of a certain Archeage group, there was an issue with teamspeak server administration. We moved to a new server, which forced us to reset all the permissions. During this process, a mistake was made and our server was listed publicly on the teamspeak server list for a period of about 48 hours.

The problem with this is if you list your server publicly, there is a seemingly infinite army of trolls who do nothing all day but go into servers on the public list and act like assholes. It happened about every 3-4 hours or so during active times, so we ended up banning about 10 separate instances. Every single one of them was a different take on a person coming in, pretending to play a random game, and then yelling at us for asking him what he's doing or calling us "huge nerds".

Our member and admin permissions were set, so it was a simple task of knocking them down as they lined up. Eventually the server got unlisted and everything was fine at that point.

The internet contains far too many people who troll in the most mundane, foolish, uninteresting ways possible. It's not that there's one person doing it, there's 1,000 people all doing it in the exact same way and thinking they have discovered a gold mine of lulz by doing it.

I read an interview with the founder of 8chan recently, and even he "moderates" this shit off his site because it's being botnetted all over the place, because it's hilarious to see a page filled with shocking racism to the point that nobody can use something.

Runescape is a popular PVP game. Keep in mind that in Runescape you win by having better items then the other guy has, with no exception to this rule. So most PvP videos are people running around with top tier gear and potions killing people having duels in one hit while annoying things flash on the screen.
