God judges based on what you know, so if you're cripplingly dumb, you're going to hell.

I've been in a legitimized cult for several years now. I always knew it was a cult too. No, it isn't Scientology, and no I'm not joking either.
My wife was raised in it, and we've been slowly trying to leave it. This has helped bring us a lot closer together in the process, and I'm glad that I didn't just avoid her because of her affiliation. She's far too smart and sensitive to be okay with a lot of the more extreme tenets. But, she still thinks that they will some day reform and improve. She's still hopeful, but I'm not. So, we're working through stuff, trying to maintain relationships with her family while following our own conscience. Her parent's are amazing and loving, so it'll be fine. Overall, it has been a really amazing, rewarding time of self-discovery for both of us.
Anyway, just sharing... not sure why... yep.
