This looks awesome, but I'm confused...is this a new Godzilla film or it is somehow tied into the original continuity? I am no expert on the Toho chronology, but I thought Final Wars was supposed to be the actual last Godzilla movie of the old series.
Wikipedia notes that Godzilla Final Wars was the last entry in the Millennium series. Wikizilla says that " The Millennium series (ミレニアムシリー& #12474; Mireniamu shirīzu?) is a term used to identify the films in the Godzilla series released from 1999 to 2004. It is notable for the fact that most of its movies do not follow a set timeline or occur in the same continuity (except for Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla and Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.)."

Oh shit...

Big G doesn't look happy.
Born in the RSR

I was skeptical about the new design when the first previews came out but this looks really good.
This does look much better than I expected but it still has the core flaw of all post CGI Godzilla, which is that the whole point of a Godzilla movie is watching some guy in a rubber suit flail around and step on things.

This doesn't look anything like Godzilla! Why do they have to keep meddling with this shit? Why can't they just stick with Roland Emmerich's original, iconic design?

The tail is ridiculous.
What environmental offense will Godzilla be pissed off at this time?
There's basically no way Fukushima isn't referenced

I'm going with "Japan's right to defend itself, with nuclear weapons"
