Tried playing this once. I'm actually not sure what happened, but I never got that far and just forgot about the game.

Doug Tennapel came out with a game which looks a lot like this recently. The main character is voiced by Mike Nelson. I want to check it out, but I'm going to wait til its on sale for a few dollars.

Nelson is friends with the developer, has been for awhile. He used his MST cred to get people to pitch in for the kickstarter.

Yeah, it's called Armikrog, and apparently it was a huge disappointment.

But the animation is lovely.

StanleyPain
I guess it was a disappointment, but at least *some* of the reaction to it was because it was discovered that the developer is friends with Nelson because they are both basically the same kind of right-wing, religio-nutcase people and he *might* have had some ties to anti-gay groups. I don't think this was ever proven or established in any kind of legit way, but it was something that was beneath some of the kickstarter discussion.
I love MST3k and, in general, I like Mike Nelson, but something he keeps relatively quiet and private is that he is a batshit crazy right wing nutjob.

Ah, the good old days when making players perform dull repetitive actions over and over was considered a "puzzle."

That was fun!

So this is what Darkseed would have looked like if it had been inspired by Bruce Bickford instead of Giger.
