I drank and played poker with elements of the mob for several years.
One guy was Salvatore Bonnano's nephew and did work for them before the Gambino system fell apart. We used to drive around brooklyn at 5am doing blow and he'd tell me stories.
Another guy was active and he told me some really messed up things.
There was one guy named Mickey who everybody told me not to piss off who was linked with the Westies and was apparently still a killer.

Anyway good riddance.

Also Luciano and Meyer Lansky were proteges of Arnold Rothstein, the true godfather of the American mob. Rothstein created the international drug trade, fixed the World Series and the stock market. He corporatized crime, and he taught them how to dress. He's curiously absent from a lot of these true crime docs.
