"Thanks Obama!"

I know that this site tends to be cynical, but this is the state where I live. This is really bad. These are real people suffering tremendous loss. I know WV is a mess, but none of these people brought this on themselves. This hurts.
memedumpster - 2016-06-28
I mean no disrespect to the victims, and all of it to the shit pointless West Virginia government which consistently blocked teaching people about the climate change which leads to this.

Gmork - 2016-06-29
Yeah, lets not become orcs-esque over this.

Cena_mark - 2016-06-29
You claim they didn't bring this upon themselves, yet they likely provided the coal for the global warming.

Cena_mark - 2016-06-29
All the coal. Its all WV's fault.

I got a good night's sleep and am less pissed off. I know joking about shit is our coping mechanism. I do it as much as anybody else here. it just hit a little too close to home. I despise the fossil fuel industry and what it has done to this state. But I also recognize that for most of the state's history, coal mining was the only real job. Now the mines are slowly starting to close and everybody who can afford to leave already has except for the poorest of the poor and retirees who choose to live here because the cost of living is so low. The only other source of income for the state that I can think of is tourism. I don't know...I'm rambling.

Cena_mark - 2016-06-29
I understand. I know that area a bit. I have family in east Ohio, and have reletives who've worked in coal. They've been in a tough spot since the decline of the american steel industry.

Hugely devastating losses down there. I hope they get a lot of help soon.

Always liked Charlie Rose and that Jeff Glor is a pretty decent news reader but seriously, Gayle King is a mess of a morning anchor.
