Someone mentioned Ryu Murakami during the Bad Boy Bubby screening.
I warmly recommend his novel "From the motherland with love", it has a really good take on the psychological inner workings of North Koreans.

Old_Zircon - 2016-07-04 We've got that at work, once I finish Stoner by John Williams (which absolutely lives up to and exceeds the hype from when it was "discovered" a couple years ago - it really is a contender for the best American novel I've ever encountered, full stop) I'll check that out.
