If you're wondering what context you're missing to help this make sense, don't worry, you're not missing any. Saw this at TIFF last year; it was a glorious mess of a movie. Miike (and the frog) were both there; the way Miike made it sound was that this was something they threw together after Tom Hardy pulled out of The Outsider. Maybe he was allowed to leave if he had another movie lined up, so he lined up this one; it certainly felt like they threw this one together.
