I just made a good quality transfer from VHS this afternoon.

It's rightfully regarded as one of the absolute worst movies ever. I don't think anyone who stumbled on this before word got out on the Internet wasn't deeply touched by the experience of playing it and realizing what they were seeing. I found it for $.99 at the public library's annual sale in Jamaica Plain around 2005 and it changed me forever.

There are less competent movies, there are cheaper movies, there are more confusing movies, but there's something about Nukie that defies description or categoriztion. This scene is nothing, really. There's a reason RLM have tapes of it all over their sets (and some kind of custom Nukie box art pillow).

The whole thing's on Youtube now, of course, but do yourself a favor and don't spoil it before I get around to showing it.

That said, I might go back and actually do a properly color corrected transfer before movie night, because this deserves it. MNR deserves the best Nukie on the internet.

That was over a year ago. I hope they stick to their guns and never actually talk about it.

I hope they eventually do something with the copy of Learning Treehouse Phonics Vol. 4 I sent them last year, though, I see it on that shelf sometimes. I still have mine and have considered streaming it, but I'm on the fence. It has some truly embarrassing ad-libbed puppetry and possibly the worst Schwarzenneger impression I've ever seen but over all it's kind of a grind to sit through. I haven't made it all the way to the end since PoEcon 1.
