I bumped this out of the hopper just because of the one time i got into a facebook argument with an actual fucking klansman over Morris the cat

B_Ko - 2016-09-09 Kind of disappointing, honestly. I set a Morris-esque cat as my profile picture, he commented on it, I called him out for being a nazi-supporter.
Later on he posted a picture of his son in football gear and I said his kid was going to make a great power bottom some day. He, oblivious, responded that "hes a lil badass on both sides of the ball"

Fun Fact: The voice of Morris is also the voice of He-Man.
|
Xenocide - 2016-09-08 This makes his whole friendship with Battle Cat kind of weird.

Is Garfield just a rip off of this character?

|
Cena_mark - 2016-09-08 Jim Davis is a billionaire. That's ludicrous. I'll use that as a counter argument to capitalists who claim capitalism rewards hard worjy and ingenuity.

EvilHomer - 2016-09-08 Jim Davis is the True and Original Creator of Garfield, the Orange Fatso Kitty-cat. Stop trollin', Cena.

EvilHomer - 2016-09-08 Can't find any info on your alleged plagiarisms, but I did find an early 80s article from People magazine, in which Jim Davis himself specifically characterizes Garfield as a cross between Archie Bunker and Morris the Cat:

EvilHomer - 2016-09-08 For the benefit of those of us who don't want PeopleDotCom turning up in our browser history:
--------
Cats, as any dog person will attest, are not really cute and cuddly... They're finicky.
(...) "He's a little bit of Archie Bunker and Morris the Cat tossed together," says Jim Davis, the man who made this monster. "He's a very calculating cat. He's a very believable cat."
