MAY I BE OF ASSISTANCE?
It was "Cordwainer Bird" NOT Harlan Ellison. Mr. Ellison is waaaay too cool to put his name on such a cheesy piece of crap.
I have the DVD collection of all the episodes SO I SHOULD KNOW.
(p.s. Thanks for my Canadian childhood memories Mr. Ellison!)

Watched all of these on the channel cypresscorners before it was dmcaed a few years ago, and they are really great.
This was a fantastic show for its time and really a shame it never went anywhere.
If you click on the original link either on the page or through the embedded youtube it will take you to the full playlist of all the episodes.
I gotta say I really like the shot, a lot. It's ambition outweighs its budget and its classic moral dilemma sci fi which is the best sci fi.
Also, I love how the computer is just some fuddy old dick who gets increasingly frustrated at its own users.

Created by writer Cordwainer Byrd, I think you'll find.
I guess I should have read Meerkat's post first.
I'm going to edit the entry anyway since Ellison's pen name is better than his own.

Ben Bova wrote a "fictionalized" account of the creation of this show which includes: Studio politics, Harlan Ellison's continue spiral into insanity, Fat horny studio executives and sci fi fans taring the show apart. The book's called "Star Crossed" and is an underrated gem.
Purchased from eBay. Amazon doesn't have it. Thanks for the tip... like most people, I've only really read about this from Ellison's point of view.

Don't change a thing, it's great. If this site supported more than 5 tags, I would add :
Garth, Cuckold, Space Amish, green screen
