Yes, if you guys haven't experienced the Derek Smart fiasco over this game (you remember him, right? That's deep Poe Red territory), you've got to catch up to it.

It involves death threats, gamergate, and some hilarious smackdowns of this game's producers from Smart himself.

I did not know about actual death threats against Derek Smart; I only saw some blurb he wrote years back (years! my god this game is a monetary black hole) saying roughly "I am very doubtful such a game can even be made on any remotely feasible level with all the promised features included, and I know because I've tried numerous times in my life to do exactly that". Oh well, I guess that's just the go-to reaction for gamers these days when someone tells them curb their hype and try to be skeptical.

Sadly, hype is what Kickstarter projects thrive on, so I don't see drama trains like this stopping for anything short of total global economic collapse.
