You guys are just hearing what you want to hear. I loathe the Trump camp. If there were screams of "KILL OBAMA" in his audience I'd be all over that shit. It's just not there.

Don't kid yourself, they didn't believe anything he said. They don't believe he will build a wall, they don't believe he will ban muslims, they don't believe he will put Hillary in jail.

They are voting as a "fuck you" to the establishment. They don't care what happens or who it happens to.

If you tell a stupid person not to do something because it will hurt them, they will do that thing, possibly hurting themselves -- and you -- just to make a point.

Oh, I don't think all of them or even a majority of them believed what he said. Most of them voted for him as a big"fuck you" to people they hate. They would have voted for a tuna sandwich if it meant flipping a political bird at the people they consider to be the enemy.

But there are frighteningly large numbers of true believers in the mix. Those are the ones I worry about.

Some people want to have faith. They want to believe in something outside of themselves, and no amount of sober reality can sway them once they have found a belief that gives them comfort. Modern society has killed God and His prophets, replacing them with the Party, with the State; the names are different, but the rules still apply.

But the Trump supporters who DO become disillusioned? I hope they find me, and I hope, on that day, we can be friends. We all make mistakes. We all have our Obama Moments, the actions we wish we could undo - but it is in how we rise to the challenge, and grow from it, that marks us as men.
