Pasolini > Fellini
Nolan >Boyardee > Pasolini >Fellini
Litmus test, says who, a bunch of uptight film snobs? Bawbag, You're really making film appreciation out as one big circular masturbation ritual.
BTW, I've never seen this movie.
Name one moment in any batman movie that tops a delicious, savory bite of canned ravioli
The part where the Joker does the pencil trick.
Pasolini is grand, granted but his quality was all over the place unlike Federico. For me Fellini pips him to the post by a fair margin.
Still I would have liked to see another 20 years worth of his career if it hadn't been cut so tragically short.
No argument on Boyardee though!
black and white means its good wuhhhhhhh
I never really got into the Italian stuff. Don't know why.

"The litmus test of cinematic taste." Thats quite pompous imo. Youre essentially saying, if you dont like what I like you have poor taste.
I personally dont like Fellini. He just seems to just want to make the "coolest" films. They are very superficial. His admittedly beautiful cinematography is in service of nonsensical and/or silly plots which I find boring.
A film like 'bicycle thieves' on the other hand, I think is amazing.
haha I put that in to wind up cena mark tbh.
I think that's what I couldn't nail down. His films are pretty though.
Bicycle thief and the conformist are two itallian ones I really dig. I thought the Conformist looks better than 8.5 and it has a lot more going on.
Stars for bawbag stirring cenas inner redneck though.
He's stirred nothing. Its just all you Dark Knight haters.
I don't think anyone would deny Dark Knight is an excellent kids' movie. Heath ledger played a great beetlejuice.
Ledger won an Oscar for his performance.
Mr. Purple Cat Esq.
@Cena. I find the dark knight to be quite mediocre. Mainly because a lot of it doesnt make sense. A lot of the action scenes are shot / edited weirdly so they are confusing, stuff is moving around from shot to shot in impossible inconsistent ways.
Also the character motivations for the larger plot points often dont make sense, its like they are doing stuff cus it would be the most dramatic thing to do or just the script says so.
I really enjoy action / adventure / thriller type stuff but in order to be able to suspend disbelief and get involved in those films they need to have logical plots and action sequences.
Nolan seems to be all about pushing these *big* emotions in his films and seems to not have much of grasp of logic and causality.
The RLM guys say as much, though Mike doesnt really mind cus he likes big emotions.
What a stupid name for a film. 8 1/2 what? Inches? Did this Fellini perve make a movie about my dick?
He's european cena, so this movie about your pecker would be 8½cm :P
aw, CM, I knew you were a good one once I found out you liked John Carpenter, even in your John McCain republican wrestler-era.
This is better than Nolan tho. You should see it.
Not sure if serious o.O. It was his ninth film, but being semi-autobiographical, he considered it his 8 1/2 film. Also, it's the greatest film ever made.
