Put the mic in his hand and he steals the show.

What was it about Michael Jackson that made him so attractive to kids? I mean I remember when I was a kid I was crazy about Michael Jackson.

EvilHomer - 2016-12-15 Combination of good genetics and extremely strong Game. Negging, pheromones, subliminal Peter Pan references: Michael knew all the right ways to get around your Brat Shields, and legend has it, he successfully closed with every last HK10 he ever approached!

Old_Zircon - 2016-12-15 I really couldn't have cared less about Michael Jackson as a kid in the 80s.
I guess I saw The Wiz on TV but the only part I remember having much interest in was the subway peddler scene.

boner - 2016-12-15 I was most definitely a fan & seeing him deteriorate over the years was just awful, like watching your own innocence go up in smoke.

Oscar Wildcat - 2016-12-15 I never much cared for his music, certainly not at the time, but I have grown to appreciate his talent for songwriting and his distinctive work product. Everyone recognizes these songs, even if (like me) you didn't like them and didn't listen to them at the time. That's really amazing and something few pop stars can claim.
Part of what made MJ so odd, and the 80's in general so strange, is that if you could even be bothered to look you could see all kinds of warning signs about the guy's sexual proclivities. Yet parents rushed to give their children to him. A lot of the 80's was like that. I fear we may be returning to that time again with the new administration, many of the same features.

Born in the RSR - 2016-12-15 In the early 90s the video for Black or White was on like every morning on TV(although it might be one of those fake memories about early childhood), but I do for sure remember catching one of his big concerts on german TV(channel Sat 1) somewhere around say age 7 or 8, and watching it all the way through and it blowing my mind.

EvilHomer - 2016-12-15 So in other words, Mr Wildcat, what you're saying is that the reason the PizzaGate investigations are going nowhere, is because all these sex rings are run by *Trump*.

Oscar Wildcat - 2016-12-16 That's 100% pure Michael Jackson urine, right there.
|
Old_Zircon - 2016-12-16 In retrospect, everything he did with Quincy Jones was great.

Boomer The Dog - 2016-12-17 Old Zyr, I think the real architect behind the Quincy Jones sound at the time was Rod Temperton, and yeah, I love that sound too, from Quincy's The Dude album, and the Brother's Johnson's Stomp and a bunch of others, Quincy and Rod defined that uptown street sound around 1980. I was right there, woof!
I heard it on Bob James' Start Lettin' It Loose song too, but I don't know if Quincy was involved there, or Bob was doing a version of their production.

curious submitter/title synergy

gravelstudios - 2016-12-15 That's what I was gonna say. Boner has a tendency to do that.
