I felt like I was being primed to watch the worst film in the world.

Around 30 minutes in are ones for porn videos. With NSFW logos.

they could all be pron ones really

Some of these are fucking ACE!

That being said, it reminds me of all the unskippable shit in modern videogames where with video we could just FFWD past it all. Good times.

too funny, back then we yearned for instant playback, no more annoying rewinding and fast-forwarding

Isn't that the way it always turns out? It's like that monkey paw wish -thing.

In the 90s we were dreaming of a 24/7 Internet connection and we finally got it. Then BLAM! it's used to monitor everything we do on our computer.

I think I'll take up woodworking or something, Technology used to be interesting but it's always being abused for financial gain instead of just making things easier to use these days. To add insult to injury, user interfaces and quality in software has gone down, so it's even more annoying. Can't receive new emails on your $600 phone? Oh sorry, it's a feature, youll have to wait for the next software upgrade, which might or might not come out in the next 6 months, or never!

I'm proud to say I always loved these things. Video instruction manuals, too. We used to watch that stuff on our lunch breaks at band practice in high school, if the timing wasn't right to catch dog-competition game shows or Legends of the Hidden Temple or something.

Cube, woodworking is great. The Internet has made it easy to get really nice, pre WWII hand tools for a fraction of what a comparable modern on would cost.

But woodworking is also technology, so you'd have to work a lot harder than that if you were going to be a hardcore luddite.

Seriously, a Lie Nielsen no. 4 smoothing plane is $350 right now. I've gotten two well maintained, grooved sole, 1940s Stanley no. 4's (which the Lie Nielsen is essentially a replica of) for about $40 each on eBay in the past few years, and the only major difference (other than the grooved soles being a nice feature in my book) is that the stock Stanley irons are a bit on the thin side, but you could always upgrade that and still spend less than half what the new one costs.

If you have the space I highly recommend getting in to it, just in general this is probably just about the best time in history to be an autodidact.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT AT 30:44?!!!!

Old_Zircon - 2017-01-11

I think Mr. Video at 26:38 is my current favorite.

38:20 is amazing, too.
