I was able to make it to work that day, but only because I got a ride from a friendly SOV-SUV from my usual bus stop to the transit center. From there I took a regular bus and it was fine.

I'm super privileged that if I couldn't make it to work, I could just sort of work from home and call in to meetings and such. I feel bad for the poor people who have to spend hours on transit and deal with this shit just for a crap job so they don't get evicted or whatever. Everyone deserves better public transit.

Honestly good public transit + decent cycling infrastructure would completely turn around American (even Texan) society.

I'd love to have a bus drive up next to Jim Inhofe and have the doors open, pouring filthy floodwater all over him.

In other news: China is abandoning plans for 85 new coal-fired power plants and putting 2.5 billion dollars into developing a renewable energy infrastructure by 2020.
