Well I was looking forward to this game, and then this leaked. I was in complete fucking awe when I saw this a little while ago. I couldn't believe it. If this is representative of the game as a whole then we're in for one hell of a disaster, albeit a pretty one.
Oh well, it still won't be as big a disappointment as No Man's Sky.

Laughable. Don't get your hopes up for the rest of the story to be better either, from what I've seen the dialogue and facial animation is dreadful throughout. Also, this shit is written by the people who made 'misunderstood space nazis' a thing. I wish they just cut all this crap and turned the game into Monster Hunter with Zoids.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2017-01-31 The gameplay still looks fun as hell and like pure eye candy to boot when you're actually running around and actually playing.
But yeah, in an RPG cutscenes and dialog are kind of important, or should at least be passable. The way this is animated, written, and voice acted, feels like some shit you'd see in obscure no-budget PS2 game cutscenes fifteen years ago.
Hopefully the rest of the game isn't like this though, because I love the whole idea, the premise, the atmosphere, everything. The actual story being shit feels like wasted potential.

StanleyPain - 2017-02-01 This isn't Andromeda it's from Horizon: Zero Dawn the massively hyped Sony Tomb Raider clone that takes place in a post-apocalyptic Earth where people are like cave dwellers again or some shit and the earth is dominated by robots that imitate giant animals.

Why is the black chick making that stupid fucking face? She keeps grimacing after everything she says with this weird half-smile and tilt of the eyes. It's like her default face pose got set wrong.

Voice acting all this sort of stuff is a bad design decision. The volume is so high inevitably the quality and variance ends up being very low. Also for the player sitting there waiting for someone to read their lines is very boring. Text is simply a better solution.
Fallout 1 and 2, Plancescape:torment had a much better solution years ago. Most of the dialogue is text (that one can read at ones own pace) But every now and again (like when meeting a new character) there is a voiced line of dialogue (thats *really* well done and distinctive) that fleshes out the character a bit more.
