Outstanding casting here. I'm now a huge fan.

I'm sold. Much of the show's comedy was derived from Yoyo's constant malfunctions. Some of his common problems included:
*Uncontrollably spinning head over heels when near an electric garage door that was opening or closing.
*Bullets causing him to break out dancing
*Magnets flying at him
*Picking up radio signals from Sweden
*A slew of Polaroid photos spewing from his shirt pocket when a criminal punched him in the nose
*When asked about his previous assignment, he would reply, "The bunco squad," then continue to repeat the phrase no matter what the questioner said, as if he were a skipping record
I also love that the left half of his chest panel appears to be a Texas Instruments calculator
Hmm, on further examination it might be a Sharp

I'd like to see a show that is just wacky cop comedy sidekicks. Yoyo, reincarnated dog, etc.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Yo-Yo was originally a Japanese guy?

I would love to watch this. Shame it only got one season. Yo-Yo went on to play Herman Munster in The Munsters Today tv series.

I actually did watch this as a kid (betraying my age here). Come to think of it, I watched a fair number of extremely short-lived comedies when I was young: Holmes and Yoyo, Quark, No Soap Radio...
Tenspeed And Brownshoe
Time Express with Vincent Price

The presence of John Schuck has me immediately planning out a McMillan & Wife fusion/crossover where Lt. Enright (Schuck) discovers his likeness was used without his consent for the production of the Yoyo robot.

I want to watch the shit out of this now. Great find.
