The Medveds hated this, and they weren't wrong. The jokes are fucking terrible. But I saw this twice during the one lousy week that it played near me. Back in 1982, VCRs probably existed, but you didn't know anyone who owned one. Cable TV was eleven channels, and, of course, there was no internet. This is what you had to do to see something weird. My friends and I had all read about Ed Wood from the Medveds but we'd never seen Plan Nine, or Glen or Glenda.

The first time I*'d heard about this film was when the filmmakers appeared as Guests on Dr. Demento.

This is a pretty awful movie in some ways, but at the same time it has kind of a movie riff charm to it. A proto-MST3k perhaps or pre-Night Flight sort of thing.
