I read the comic (before the movie came out) and liked it well enough.
I liked the movie well enough for what it was and don't get butthurt that every little subplot didn't find its way in (seriously, its already 3 hours long).
I thought most of the casting was well done and thought that Snyder's direction did the trick.
Overall, it's a 2 1/2 star movie that I like but this intro gets 5 stars.
Yeah it's not like the original didn't sprinkle Dylan quotes all over the place.. Plus there's the "Ultimate Edition" which has everything including the pirate stuff.. still no squid but otherwise a very faithful adaptation of an impossibly filmable novel
