Why the Matrix looked the way it did.
The matrix reused a few sets from this movie.

The Mothership
Didn't this movie end with the end of the world?
Dont know, the Benny Hill chase at shell beach kind of took me out of it

No, the city was an alien prison camp set up for the purpose of experimenting on humans. At the end of the film the protagonist gained control of the prison but it was still out in the middle of nowhere in space.

Great movie with some of my favorite visuals in recent cinema. (well, I guess not too recent anymore).

If you've never seen it, I recommend watching the so-called "director's cut" which makes a few minor changes from the theatrical version that are definitely improvements. (for example, removing the opening narration that ruins the entire plot of the movie just because studio execs thought the movie was "confusing")
Oh hey, old-timey trailer that only gave vague hints to its plot rather than give the whole thing away! Certainly glad they stopped doing that!
they made up for it in this movie by giving everything away in the first 5 minutes.

not in the director's cut!

Was actually the first movie I owned, was gifted a directors cut DVD of it to go with a new computer (WITH A DVD DRIVE IN 1999!)

The only thing that burned me was the track 'Sleep Now' is NOWHERE in the actual movie.
This is a damn good movie.
Yes, yes it is.

I wanted to like it

If you haven't seen this yet, grab the director's cut.

Studio interference fucked up the theatrical release.
