anything is better than a fucking nazi

This is great news, but France is still just as full of idiots as any other country.
Hey, don't shoot the messenger.
but not as many as America.
plus they had a much higher turnout for the election, meaning the non-idiots in their country actually go out an vote instead of protest not-vote because their favorite candidate didn't make it to the final round.
I think it's more like "Scared Straight" where America and England play the wise old felons. "Don't let National Stupidism happen to You! You cheese eating surrender monkeys!".
You guys ever notice that Sanders is a jeeeewwwwwww?
Also the technicalities of their elections aren't partisan. E.g. district boundaries, ID requirements for voting...
The whole "Democrats didn't show up" thing is fucking infuriating when you know that the republicans purposely put up barriers for their (poor & black) opponents.
We going to give bernie bro and never trump republican protest voters a pass because minorities got suppressed?
"The whole "Democrats didn't show up" thing is fucking infuriating when you know that the republicans purposely put up barriers for their (poor & black) opponents."
Show of hands for anyone who wanted to vote in November but was turned away by new voting laws, or the line was so long that they didn't have time to vote and also get to work. Cue the crickets.
Hey Lefties who claim to be pissed off by voter ID laws, where were you in 2014, the year after Republicans started reversing the Voting Rights Act? If you were really all principled and shit, you would have flooded the polling stations so hard that the Republicans would have lost the House, the Senate, and every state legislature up for grabs. A 37% turnout rate says you stayed home, you fucking hypocrites.
I think it's perfectly justifiable to say braindead protest voters had a bigger effect when you look at the spike in independent votes. No amount of voting barriers can explain away voting for Jill fucking Stein.
and I'm too lazy to look it up. Does the French system have anything even close to the retardation that is the electoral collage?
Being pissed over people who didn't just tow the line and voted for the lesser of two evils is as fucking dumb as being pissed that all the democrats don't re-register as republicans so they can vote in their primaries.
Also this fantasy you fucking idiots have that everybody is sorry now is pathetic.
They're not. Trump is shaping up to be, predictably, all bark.
How's the weather up your own ass?
Surprise surprise, but us rather-homogeneous-in-demographic-if-not-in-ideology POEsters don't know a lot of disenfranchised people! For what it's worth, I don't know anyone who didn't vote either.
In the interest of absolving myself of personal responsibility: I'm Canadian and have voted in every federal election I've been eligible for. I've missed one provincial election because I was overseas for work and missed the deadline for an absentee ballot. =\
Also the idea that everyone should have voted to prevent/remove the obvious partisan manipulation of the voting system is kinda weird. I feel like the system is broken enough that progress can only be made outside the system. The baby drowned in the bathwater.
Honestly, Bort. Do you have _any_ desire to have the things you say be taken seriously?

Finally, an election Putin's interference did not ultimately effect (sorry SolRo).
The Soviets are getting way too much credit these days. Hillary lost that election all by her very self.
Thrid times the charm.
Just kidding, go away Hillary Clinton. We don't need you.

Dieu Merci! Gratz to the new Franch prez & First Grandlady!

Nope. They just elected a racist 'centrist' instead.
Just put on your armband already.
What armband? My liberal armband? What do those look like?
|cognitivedissonance - 2017-05-07 |
American liberals really quick to label Macron a "centrist", not knowing that even a conservative fascist in France is to the left of Hilary Clinton.
he is called a centrist because he's a centrist by French standards.
should American news have called him a crazy pinko commie to match his positions with American standards?

This has not aged well.
Bernout Sanders supports have managed to look even stupider over time!
