Frankly, I'd rather have Trump than Bush. Bush & co. were actually semi-competent, so they could fuck things up real good.

Trump, on the other hand, is so repulsive & incompetent that he appears to be uniting everybody against him, and he's dragging the Republican party down with him.

I don't know if I'll still have this opinion after four years of this nonsense.

I don't know what that was that happened with the Clinton investigation, whether Comey fucked up or someone forced his hand, but I was kind of impressed by how earnestly he wrapped up the matter before the election. It wasn't until last friday, when I saw him interviewed on the CBS all-night news, that I realized that he was the guy who had raced Andrew Card to Ashcroft's bedside, and now I'm a total fan. If I had a Tshirt that said "Comey is my Homie", I would wear it even though that's obviously pretty fucking lame. I'd give him, a blow job if he asked me. He's 6'8", so I could probably do it standing up.

The partisan in me wants to keep Trump to see how much of the shithouse he can burn down, but the patriot in me, which is asserting itself in my dotage, believes that for the good of the country we should adopt any alternative to Trump that constitution will permit, even if it's Richard Nixon, back from the grave a s a flesh-eating zombie. Or maybe even Mike Pence.

There are still a lot of angry Republicans with huge hate-boners who support Trump. I think Congressional Republicans would have cut Trump lose already, but for the fear of winding up politically, on the wrong end of the boners. It's a pretty good bet that Pence would be a better deal for them, especially compared to having Trump around in 2018. If I wasn't so terrified, I'd enjoy the irony. The working class voters they've been manipulating for years are now controlling them. You seeing this trainwreck, Lee Atwater? You built this.
