Senate is poised to pass repeal and replace any day now, breezed through.
If Trumpcare doesn't at least try to include mandatory drug testing to receive Medicaid (for example) I'll be shocked.
But on the bright side it looks like Labor is kicking ass in the UK, against predictions.

I saw this piece earlier.
I was especially impressed with how they managed to avoid demonizing the white dude. He was caught up in bullshit as well.... it's just that he experienced a system that kinda worked, and he escaped relatively unscathed. Plus he seemed like a good guy.
whoops not meant as a reply. But this did happen to a couple friends of mine who got stopped somewhere in South Dakota, probably for nothing more than their Oregon license plate, and after a couple of hours found maybe half of a stepped on/crushed up oxy pill underneath the floormat or something, and stuck them in jail with 50,000 bail.

You can tell that they're taking this issue very seriously because they're only making one stupid joke every ten seconds.
Fucking comedy shows, how do they work?!
What happened to you as a child to make you this way?
I was ready to argue with CN until 4:10.
Same with John Oliver. There's comedy that come from the "holy shit" moments of the insanity of what they cover, and then there's his showboating moments where he tries to shoehorn a bit in...loudly, like the producer contractually obligated him to be at least 50% like Jon Stewart.

Oh God, the fucking laugh track. The video was fine, a decent enough Errol Morris riff, but what possible purpose did the laugh track serve? Is this supposed to be informative or Benny Hill?
Thats not a laugh track that's the studio audience. As to why it was kept in the segment? Juxtaposition.

The laugh-track and jokes felt weird to me for something purporting to be a documentary. But, then I thought, do all documentary / discussion of modern issues shows need to be ultra-serious melodramatic and/or po-faced? Thats just as bad. I've decided I dont care what style this sort of thing is presented in. All I care about is..
1. The veracity of the facts presented.
2. Present the facts with as little extraneous bullshit as possible.
This thing doesnt rate very high!
