The one true Batman.

In 1966 was eight years old, and I was SO fucking into that show. My grandmother made this incredible Batman costume for me with her sewing machine. Luckily, my litle brother was a Robin fan

This kid in the neighborhood, who was apparently thought he was some old-fashioned bully from The Little Rascals, tried to grab my cape and yank it off me. In my memory it seems like he was a foot taller than me, at least in eight year old scale.

Unfortunately for him, I was Batman. POW! Without even thinking about it, I just reached up and popped him in the nose with all my might. He ran home crying and bloodied. That's the only fight I've ever been in.

“Well, I think one of my favorite memories is that Frank and I were invited to a party one night and we decided to go, a Hollywood party we didn’t know anything about. We were kind of laughing and having a few beers and said, ‘Let’s go over there,'” West said in a 2014 interview with Blastr. “We walked in … and it was an orgy. So I immediately went into the Batman character, and Frank went into the Riddler character, because we were getting the big giggles. It was so funny to us, what we walked into. And we were kicked out. We were expelled from the orgy.”

Thank you, Adam West. The citizens of Gotham City owe you a debt that can never be repaid.

That show was just magic. All of those great veteran actors just tearing it up. If they weren't having a great time, they sure fooled me! And Adam West was the anchor. He was low key, and he was funny, and he had that beautiful voice. He was the star, but he let Caesar Romero and Frank Gorshin and Burgess Meredith upstage him again and again. And it was magic.

That show was so important to me! It was the Twin Peaks of my childhood.


Also, for years, he was the best thing on Family Guy, no question

And Warner Brothers still won't accept that this is the Batman we want.
