We have these herons here in Florida year-round. They're scary big and have terrifying eyes.

If you go fishing at the bridge, they stalk up behind you and quickly freeze if you look at them. It's like playing "Red Light/Green Light" with a velociraptor. They'll steal your bait, your catch, your lunch and possibly your soul if they get close enough.
