I'm not justifying violence - just sort of using this as a springboard to talk about a related issue. Seen a couple of friends lately 'like' statuses by transwomen who were basically saying that men not wanting to have sex with them are bigots and I got pretty upset. These are bigtime local feminists with generally mainstream views.

It's not that she supported beatings, it's that she said beatings are good, it's that she says, right up front, that "tricking men" is "how trannies get beat up." It's not about how dishonesty. It's about how the victim is to blame.

I wasn't going to post in this delightful video at all, but I'll just say this:

It doesn't take flirting. It doesn't take any show of interest from the woman involved at all. It just takes fragile male egos, homophobia, transphobia, and "relationships built on lies (being out in public where men can see them and get a boner)" in a neat little rolled-up ball.

All it takes is a guy feeling attracted to a trans woman, then realizing she's trans, then feeling the need to expunge his homophobic (well, transphobic, but trans women are all really men so that's just sjw semantics) shame by beating or murdering them.

The vast majority of trans women that are murdered or assaulted every year were not intimate with their murderers/attackers.

A majority of them did not, in fact, even engage in any flirting or displays of interest, romantic or otherwise, toward their murderers/attackers.

They just had the misfortune to be found attractive by a man who then realized/discovered their trans status and felt the need to prove just how not-gay they definitely were.

Oh, and a large minority of the other cases where trans women get murdered/"beat up"?

When being honest up-front with a potential partner who has, up to that point, been 100% eager to get to the enthusiastic and consensual banging with someone that they were clearly extremely attracted to.

But hey, yeah, it's all about honesty, because trans women have to fight every single minute of the day to go against their TRICKING MEN INTO HAVING SEX WITH THEM instincts, overpowering and underhanded rapists-by-deception that they are.

I'm not sure who Bobonne is posting for the benefit of. I agree with Miss White in this video, but that doesn't mean she gets a pass for everything else she's ever said, or the horrible people who flock to her because she occasionally uses critical thinking and anti-trans people love to glom onto ideas that they feel justify their prejudice. Sometimes stupid/wrong people can make a valid point in the middle of a bunch of other wrong/stupid shit. It happens.
