Sure it was sub-Swazz (what ain't?) but it's nice to see the different countries' approach. These canny fuckers claimed Rambo, JCVD, and Jesus in one trailer. Pretty savvy, Ugandans.
The Fantasia film fest is awesome; I guess they branched out from Hong Kong action films to Wakaliawood which is good because the HK stuff gets enough attention on its own.
For at least one year the festival did a Toronto edition but according to rumor they were afraid it'd dwarf the Montreal one so they shut it down out of regional pride. One of my fave theatre experiences was watching Young Master on the big screen with the actor for final villain in attendance; he ran a martial arts school and brought all of the students to see it, which made it a raucous night with everyone cheering for the bad guy.
