My family used to frequent this place. We had at least four of the glass "Godfather's Pizza" carafes in our cabinets.

They had a very dense, buttery crust that hasn't been replicated elsewhere. I can't decide if it was good.

MacGyver Style Bomb - 2017-07-31

There used to be one my family went to when I was really young, long gone now. Mostly remember it for the sausage they used and the small, dark arcade room next to the pick-up area.

They still exist in a few locations here in Washington. When a friend moved up here from the south she got super excited to see one near my parents house and sent pictures of it to what I have to expect was the entirety of the south.

I remember Shakey's as having the better pizza.

Washington State is the only state I've seen an operating sizzler and long john silvers since the 1980s

teethsalad - 2017-08-01

there's still a bunch in nebraska/sd/nw iowa/sw mn, i think whoever owns it now is based outta omaha

Ugh, I ate at the Longview Sizzler a few months back following a visit to my grandfather's grave. I got food poisoning WHILE eating. Normally there's a little bit of time.

Also, they had bone-in chicken fingers, which is baffling.

The Mothership - 2017-08-01

There is a Sizzler in San José, CA, and Long John Silvers can be found in Oregon.

Space Odin - 2017-08-06

There are Sizzlers all over California and Nevada, man.

duck&cover - 2017-07-31

Yeah, I'll take a horse's-head-in-a-bed calzone.

My favorite pizza-place arcades were always in smaller chains that couldn't afford to get new machines every few months, so you'd see obscure stuff like Metamorphic Force and Martial Champion instead of the same old Mortal Kombat machines.

Somewhere Herman Cain is creepily smiling while thinking about this video.

Louddetective - 2017-08-01

We had one in my home town that became the de facto hangout on half-days in high school, due to the relatively cheap all-you-can-eat price and the small but decent arcade. Brings back the memories.

Louddetective - 2017-08-01

Also, the Godfather in this commercial seems a lot like a skinny Rodney Dangerfield

cognitivedissonance - 2017-08-01

There's a new Godfather actor, he's much fatter and hairier than Godfather Classic.

Binro the Heretic - 2017-08-01

Godfather's was my favorite as a kid. Unfortunately, all the franchises here are gone. I'd literally have to drive to another state for a Godfather's pizza these days.

I can still remember accompanying my dad to the Godfather's down the road from our house. I'd pump quarters into the arcade games while we waited for our pizzas and dad would put together salads from the salad bar.

I'd help carry everything out to the car. I can remember the smell of the pizza in the back seat driving me crazy on the ride home.

My memories are somewhat tainted knowing the whole time our money was going into Herman Cain's pocket.

cognitivedissonance - 2017-08-02

Remember that no matter how bad Herman Cain is, he never actually became president.

DOOOO IIIIIT

Sexy Duck Cop - 2017-08-07

It kind of bothers me how unwilling the marketing team is to commit to this man being a mobster.

Like I kept expecting an accent or something vaguely threatening backslash Italian, but that NOW at the end just feels bitchy and petulant.
