Nelvana, ladies and germs.

The toothpaste is played by the same guy who voiced Lydia's dad on Beetlejuice.

Old_Zircon - 2017-07-31

Good catch, I knew it was Nelvanaesque but didn't know it was actual Nelvana. Tagged!

Seems like Canada employed about three or four voice actors who dubbed every cartoon made for a 35 year period. Now they do half the video games.

It seems to have been an Australian-Canadian co-production, with some animation done in Shanghai, though the official site only seems to talk about it as though it was a completely Australian production.

I guess Rainbow Animation Limited was one of the precursors to Nelvana? (No Wikipedia entry and the IMDb page for it is a stub and most other references to Rainbow Animation on Google are about the unrelated Italian studio that animated Winx Club.)

Yeah, I'm in the "just old enough to remember this airing on Captain Kangaroo" club too, though I also remember it being used as between-show filler in the early days of YTV.

Correction to my previous post, the website talks about its origins as an Australian book series and says the two animated series were "International productions" (fair enough).

It's listed as a Nelvana production on Wikipedia. Interesting!

Anyway: Nelvana is what broke John Kricfalusi's mind.

ANSWER: There was an Australian remake series in the 2000s. It is available on YouTube.

Casual Sponge Racisim.

Jesus, I used to watch this on "Captain Kangaroo" before school every day.

betamaxed - 2017-08-01

Two tooth brushes had sex and created offspring toothbrushes. I find this concept to be disgusting.

Binro the Heretic - 2017-08-01

More disgusting than the notion of their faces being jammed into people's mouth 3 times a day?

tethercat - 2017-08-03

It took 40 years for me to get that earworm out of my head, so goddamn you all if it takes another from today too.

Also: Hot Rod Harry, as voiced by Captain Mark Nemo.
