We're fans of Big Head Scientist's channel. We've all been Afrofuturists for a WHILE.
Correct me if I'm wrong but if one considers his videos to all take place in the same world, Big Head Scientist's channel is basically the Wold Newton or League of Extraordinary Gentlemen of Afrofuturism - the Grand Unifying Funk.
Oh, and Sir Nose d'Voidoffunk seems to have the same goal as Yakub and his pal Xenu - holding humanity back, be it by making them white, covering them in thetans or faking the funk.
You'd think, but he seems just deluded and incapable of understand the blessing that is Clone Funk. He's not a bad guy. He just doesn't have the funk in his soul.
This year for TV, 1977, was not that straight. This was when Richard Pryor had a prime time sketch show and Red Foxx had a late night network stand-up show. The Man From Atlantis premiered with its post-hippie proto new age procedural weirdness. Logan's Run was a goddamn prime time serial. The Incredible Hulk was a top 30 show. The Love Boat taught us all about special guest star cocaine use. Fantasy Island was one giant hallucination. ABE VIGODA WAS A LEADING MAN.
This was perhaps the most accommodating time for d'Voidoffunk's tale of redemption under the sun.
