I cant help but admire wendyvainity. She continues to put out work and develop her weird thing. Imo shes gotten better at it too. The audio at the start of this was pretty great, wouldnt have sounded out of place on a oneohtrix album or something.

Outsider art is often some of the best art. A year or two back she started getting harassed enough, though, that she shut down one of her channels and some videos were lost, fucking idiots.

I think what endears her to most people (me included) is that it is really difficult to tell if she is consciously aware of how fucked up the stuff she makes is or not or what. She plays games with commenters and stuff sometimes and, again, it's hard to tell if she genuinely is unaware of the bizarre great/awful nature of the work or if that's the gimmick and for all these years she's kept it very close to her chest.

I like the whole making art by misusing software thing. With big powerful programs like 3dsmax or Reason you can do some mad stuff if you dont read the manual or do any tutorials and just mess around. I like to think shes organically developed her own workflow on the software she uses that the developers would be appalled by.
Add to the many ways you can misuse software the infinite ways different programs can be used in combination and the possibilities are endless.

btw. I learned how to make music on a computer that way. I got a random cd of Reason from this guy. I didnt have any internet access. I installed it and just messed around until I had cobbled together my own way of making music. That way is hard and takes a long time but you develop your own unique style and it really spurs creativity.
