Yes it's terrible, but it also has one of the first black lead characters on a cartoon TV show, so baby steps?

Also, this was on for two years and the live action band had 2 albums that weren't entirely terrible, if totally studio musician produced.

Apparently it was directly competing with Scooby Doo in the same timeslot and obviously did not come out on top.

I didn't know that! According to wikipedia, this was the first cartoon to feature a main African American/black character.

So I guess that part is groovy.
