I watched a few episodes of Cop Rock for a laugh and it is really bizarre. It has no idea what tone it's going for. There's a subplot where a woman sells her baby daughter for drug money and another where a burning cross shows up on an officer's lawn, but it's all interspersed with cheesy fm synth musical numbers like this.

It's like if you took one of those goofy markov chain 'AI's that are popular on twitter these days and fed it a bunch of SVU scripts plus a cassette tape of the Cats musical you'd get this show.
