"Franken and Davis" and/or "Tom Davis" tags needed.

This is Ron Silver's first theatrical film playing the character of Dr. Manuel Labor because comedy 42 years ago.

age is no excuse, this movie is just unfunny in general. It's like The Groove Tube's annoying, dimwitted nephew.

The movie is mildly amusing, but not as funny as its cult status would indicate. A lot of its appeal is the 'counterculture' aspect. That explains without excusing.

As to Al Franken, I never thought he was funny. I was impressed by him as a senator, but as a comedian, I always found him lacking.

My 42-years bit wasn't a defense, it was an indictment of casting practices at the time (i.e. Scarface, ~4 years later).

Heavy Changes.
