There was actually another somewhat famous "case" where a woman faked I mean had a totally real illness. There have been a few real cases where people talked a bit off accent wise for a while but it usually passes after a few weeks.
Realy? You mean she's the only one who has exhibited "Foreign Accent Syndrome"? God damnit. I vaguely remember hearing about this when it was a thing, and assumed it was a rare (but real) mental disorder. But since I don't really care about obscure mental disorders, I didn't bother to investigate it or give it ahy thought at all, really.
God damn I hate our media. They're so fucking lazy. And while I'm at it, I'll go ahead & curse the dipshits in the audience who watched this piece & were convinced that it was totally a real thing. Proto MAGA voters.
This lady reminds me of a woman I met 15 or so years ago in Missouri. She had normal mid-western accent, but after a stroke (when I met her), could only speak with a "French" accent. To my dumb ear, it sounded like it was a Parisian speaking English with a thick accent. She was frustrated by it, but was learning to accept it, so it seemed like a sincere condition. It was unclear whether the issue was her muscle control in her mouth changed and the affect was just an accent that sound French-like, or if there was a neurological component.
