There was a kickstarter for a game version which is definitely never coming out on half the platforms they promised it for.

AHEM. The series this was Frankensteined out of Star Musketeer Bismark, which ran from 1984 - 85, three whole years before your baka gaijin Bravestarr https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bismark_(anime)
It also has a way better theme song!

The same company that produced Voltron bought the rights to the original series "Star Musketeer Bismarck" retitled it "Saber Rider" and shuffled around some of the episodes, rewrote one of the side characters as the main protaganist and so on.

Still, as far as Space Westerns go I still like this better than Firefly.
