I thought this was going to be about how news agencies or websites nowadays rarely do formal retractions and instead silently edit their pieces without acknowledgement, and how there's an extortionary business of archives that journalists have to pay to access in order to find out what changed.

Part of me wants to give this three stars, in memory of all the great John Oliver essays that I would have posted if I wasn't tired of the hipster bitching that started after he became popular. Here he's just riffing.

What the hell is wrong with self starring your own videos?

Are you kidding? If people were allowed to star their own videos the whole logarthms would collapse and the beloved Star System that Chet handed down to us and our posterity would be nothing more than a meaningless (albeit amusing) social media gesture on an entertainment website.

Just kidding. There's nothing wrong with it. I've been starring my own submissions for about 12 years, and as near as I can tell, people started complaing about it 7 years ago. They, Poe Hipsters, and White Chocolate can all kiss my ass.
