It's not enough that Sammo Hung's character is "full retard" but every person he runs into seems to abuse him or take advantage of him - the kids he hangs with, his tutor, and the staff of a restaurant. It's a bit much.

Of course, this was his choice, as director, though from what I heard he had to fight the producers to not do any fighting in the film - arguing that his character suddenly developing fighting skills would not work with the story.

I skipped around a bit, but the last fight scene is worth watching. It's one of the only times I've seen Jackie Chan play it fairly straight and the only time I can think of where he straight up murders people. He gets a guy in the belly with a pick axe at one point. Very weird to see Jackie do that.
