Mr. Purple Cat Esq.
Hmm.. havent heard from Cena Mark recently....
I am wondering tho, did this guy actually commit any crimes?
They say he had 15 guns and 1000's of rounds of ammunition.. I'm assuming thats all legal + thats probably not that out of the ordinary in the US.
I guess it depends on how solid his kill-plans were, maybe they were just ure average US right winger forum drivel.
Mr. Purple Cat Esq.
Also how illegal is forming an intricate plan to kill someone... But not actually doing anything?
Maybe u just wanna form that plan in case they go evil, or get taken over by alien mind control.. Like how Batman had a plan to kill Superman, just in case!
Warning: My legal training consists of wikipedia and TV.
That said, I think that just mentally planning to kill someone isn't a crime. What makes a difference is when you also start writing up a kill list, stockpiling guns, and searching for their home addresses which is what this guy was doing. Having a plan to kill Superman is legally different from sourcing some kryptonite and carrying it around all day.
Additionally, since this guy was a wannabe terrorist I'm sure there are all kinds of special rules around that.
Incidentally the charge he was arrested for was "possession of a firearm by an addict of a controlled substance" (Tramadol, an opioid).

Wow the coasties will let just about anyone in won't they. I guess we can forget about them policing the police.
Actually, they have the highest recruiting standards of all the branches. This guy joined long ago. He's clearly been radicalized over the years.
Spend enough time out at sea and anyone starts looking like a good recruit
Recruiters aren't out to sea, that's a land billet.
Coast Guard aren’t out to sea.
That's not true. I've been out on patrols that lasted months

Yeah, but the left has Jussie Smollett, so everything is basically even on both sides.

What's weird is he used to be in the Marines... and then the Army... and then the Coast Guard? Who does that?
What was his next career move going to be?

Needs a "well regulated militia" tag
How many 2nd amendment nuts grasp that that logically would lead to cop killing as well as US troops? It's not that difficult to grasp...
But they would then be evil socialist cops and communist US troops
Most think when the civil war happens that the military and police will join the gun nut militias and easily slaughter the libs.
But then you wouldn't need an armed civilian militia.
Guys, I don't think the gun nut plan is very well thought out!

I voted this up for Fox reciting the list of targets so that you could follow along at home and check against your own.
"Who were the terrible people this coastie wanted to kill? Well, a bunch of liberal politicians and journalists, of course! Here are the names and faces of all the people this guy thought was too liberal to live, who he claimed were destroying America from within, who were just too dangerous to let live..."
