I once had the opportunity to ask Ray Harryhausen a question. I asked him how it was that in Clash of the Titans the animation and live action were so well-integrated and why today's CG films still have trouble getting the basics right. He said that he actually planned the camera shots with the animation in mind, and was very careful to get things right.

I also accidentally referred to his works as "claymation" and he got offended. Oops.
