I'm under the impression that laugh in was a lame attempt by network tv to cash in on the counterculture movement of the 60's. "Hey kids, fuck the establishment! Lorne Michaels was head writer on this show. Everything that's wrong with SNL in 2019 has it's roots in everything launched in here in 1968.
