Yup. May started with every advantage: amazing approval ratings, a country that wanted to believe in her. If she'd reached out the tiniest bit she could have arranged a 'friendly divorce' in 6 months. Instead she listened to no one but the hard right with their ugly fantasies of a new British Empire, and to her own distaste for foreigners—and turned her country and herself into a humiliated failure.

Mostly it was her failure to deliver Brexit that sealed the deal.

I imagine Trump's resignation speech will be the same as Saruman's: "One ill turn deserves another. It would have been a sharper lesson, if only you had given me a little more time.
